We offer a wide range of educational opportunities, beginning with hands-on experiential climbing. Students can participate through our Rock Hoppers Program or opt for private coaching, tailored to individual needs.

Private Coaching: $75.00 per hour for up to two participants, with one dedicated instructor.

We also provide expert support for NCEA PE and Outdoor Education assessments (Levels 1–3), helping students meet their learning goals in an active, real-world environment.

For over a decade, Vertical Adventures has also delivered Business Studies classes focused on the Level 1–2 “Visiting a Small Business” standard—offering students an authentic insight into entrepreneurship and business operations.

OUR SCHOOLS

Bring your school group to Vertical Adventures! We are an excellent location for a PE group to come out and experience rock climbing. Our instructors can tailor our sessions to emphasis physical training, team building and safety systems, and/or fun challenges.

Business study groups

Vertical Adventures offers business studies students a full-day visit to our indoor climbing gym, featuring engaging lectures by owner Darrin Worsfold.

Darrin brings a wealth of experience as a builder, teacher, youth worker, outdoor instructor, and owner of two businesses. Using his own life and business journey as a case study, he covers key topics such as:

Entrepreneurship
Ownership structures
Human resource management
Business communication
Marketing
Sources of finance

He also explores the challenges of starting a business in the leisure industry during an economic downturn.

The day is broken up with climbing sessions, giving students the chance to experience the facility firsthand. There are also opportunities to ask questions and interact with Darrin and the Vertical Adventures staff.
